Would like to have some information on Federal Reserve discount rate, Federal funds rate and prime rate. When the Fed lowers interest rates, what rate are we talking about? Who pays that rate and how does it eventually influence the prime rate that banks charge their best customers? What is the ralationship between prime rate and the Fed interest rates?
